Designs And Layout Of My Film Poster

These are basic layouts for my film poster.

Textual Analysis Of A Film Poster No: 2

For my second analysis of a film poster i have chosen 'Underworld' as i think it will give me sufficient ideas for the creation of my own film poster. Again the dimentions for this poster is 61 cm x 91.5 cm.
The image is the main focus of this poster as to be expected. The title once again is at the lower section of the poster the font and colour standing out against the background. Underneath the title is the release date of the movie, also the website address is under that too.
The main character is waring dark clothes against an image of the moon which looks to be full, due to her wearing dark cothes she stands out against the brightness of the moon. the main character is a vampire shes portrayed as being strong in the image and also due to the moon being in the background you know that the setting is at night therefore emphasising the fact she is a vampire.

Textual Analysis Of A Film Poster No:1

For my first textual analysis of a film poster i have chosen 'new moon' i thought this image gave a ideal view on how i would like my poster to look. The dimentions of this film poster is 61 cm x 91.5 cm.
The main image dominates the poster, the title is at the lower section of the image not obscuring it in any way. The film production company's logo is in the bottom right of the poster visible but not overly sized. Copy right all rights reserved is in the bottom left of the poster again visible but not too big.
The colour scheme of the poster works really well with the main image. The character is wearing dark clothes making his skin and dark hair stand out. Tree's are in the background silhouetted by the setting sun giving a golden yellow glow to both the main character and the surrounding tree's. The reason the trees have been used is because part of the movie is set in a forest and also the character in the poster is a werewolf and fans of the movie would know this therefor making the surroundings more relevant to the character.

Ancillary Products

The brief in which was given states that I must also create two subsidiary products as well as my main product.

Firstly I am going to create a Film Poster promoting the film in which my trailer is based upon. As my film trailer is of the Horror genre I am going to have to follow certain conventions in order to make my product work effectively. In order to find the conventions of a film poster I am going to analyse a couple, this will aid me in finding the best layout options and colour schemes.
My film poster must contain an image of the main cast, the title of the film, logo of the film production company and a TM all rights reserved.
I am also going to create a few different designs and choose the one I think will work better.

Conventions of a Film Poster are:

* Main Image

* Title Of The Movie

* Film Production Logo

* TM All Rights Reserved

* Release Date Of The Movie (Optional)

Secondly I am going to produce a front cover for a film magazine im going to follow certain conventions so that it will have more effect on my audience. I will begin by researching existing film magazines and get inspiration for my layout and colour schemes.

Conventions of a Front cover of a Film Magazine are

*Main Image

*Title Of The Film Magazine

*Advertisements For Upcoming Films

*Free Items

*Barcode

*Date

*Price
